The Turney Group is a main line dealer for a large range of the UK’s leading agricultural, horticultural and arboricultural franchises, including New Holland, Manitou, Can-Am, Kuhn, McConnel, AW Trailers, Vaderstad, OPICO, Ransomes Jacobsen, Husqvarna, Hayter, Honda, Stihl and Iseki. The diverse range of franchises we hold enables us to offer you a machine to suit your exacting specification and budget, be it a tractor, combine, lawnmower, chainsaw, trailer and much more.
Our specialist and dedicated team, services customers throughout Southern England from branches located at Middleton Stoney, Princes Risborough and Weston on the Green.
In 2023, Turney Group celebrated 75 years in business and has a rich history of supporting the agricultural and groundcare industries. Scroll down to read notable highlights from the founding of the business in 1948 to its more recent history.

History
The Turney Group, formerly known as PA Turney, was founded by the late Peter Turney whose principles of high standards, enthusiasm and commitment enabled the growth of the business and accumulation of dealerships for a number of well known suppliers. The business today continues to uphold the standards established by Peter over 75 years ago and has subsequently grown into a multi-million pound family business representing leading agricultural and horticultural franchises including New Holland, Kuhn, Vaderstad, Honda, Stihl, Ransomes Jacobson and many more.
1940s
1948 The late Mr Peter Turney, son of a farmer and agricultural contractor, founded the Company with no assets in a rented barn in Middleton Stoney.Â

1950s
1951Â Mr. Turney purchased the premises in Middleton Stoney which is still occupied by the Company today.
1953Â Appointed sub-dealers for Nuffield tractors and obtained dealerships for Ransomes, Listers and Bentall.
1958 Business was incorporated into a Private Company – P.A. Turney Ltd.

1960s
1961/62 Appointed Main New Holland dealers for Balers. Nuffield tractor dealer for Oxfordshire.
1968 Acquired freehold premises at Weston on the Green for the Grass Machinery Division.
1970s

1970Â Appointed Main Ford Tractor Dealer for North Oxfordshire.
1972/78 During this period extensive improvements were carried out to the Middleton Stoney premises including new workshops, service parts and office facilities. Improvements were also the Grass Machinery Division at Weston on the Green.

1980s


1980 Acquired certain business assets of A.V. Fitt Ltd., and commenced trading from a depot at Little Tew.
1981 Acquired freehold 8-Acre site at Chipping Norton.
1983 Commenced trading from new premises at Chipping Norton.
1985 Acquired certain assets of Curtis and Horn Ltd., and commenced trading from Britannia Works, Botley, Oxford.
1987 Acquired freehold 0.75-Acre site at Oakfield Industrial Estate, Eynsham, and commenced construction of new depot.
1988 Vacated Britania Works, Botley, Oxford and relocated to the new depot at Eynsham. Started the installation of a new computer system at Middleton Stoney, for the group.
1989 Awarded Ford New Holland franchise for Northamptonshire, September.

1990s
1990 Acquired freehold premises at Denington Ind. Esq., Wellingborough, Northamptonshire. Ceased trading at Eynsham Depot, October.
1995 Major fire in Parts Warehouse at Middleton Stoney Depot, February 7th.
1996 Rebuilding programme started for refurbishment of fire damage, June, at Middleton Stoney. Acquired certain trading assets of A.G. Jones Ltd. and started trading from two new premises, one at Stoke Mandeville, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, the other at Maulden, Bedford, Bedfordshire, July.
1999Â Awarded the Textron franchise for Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, and Northamptonshire.
1999 The first employee to complete 50 years in service. Followed by several more, with many on track in the coming years.Â
2000s

2004 Leased premises at Gatehouse Way, Aylesbury, Bucks, June 2004. Vacated premises at Stoke Mandeville. Appointed Case-IH dealership. Leased premises at Lords Farm, Lords Lane, Bicester for new dealership, January.
2005 Leased premises at Worcester Road Industrial Estate, Chipping Norton. Started trading October 2005 and vacated premises at Station Road, Chipping Norton.
2005 – P A Turney Ltd renamed to Turney Group with the creation of the Fieldforce, Agriforce and Groundforce divisions.
2009 Leased premises at Wrest Park, Silsoe, May. Vacated premises at New Road, Maulden. Leased Premises at Woodway, Princes Risborough, June. Vacated premises at Gatehouse Way, Aylesbury.
2010s
2016 Ceased trading in the Wellingborough area, June. Wrest Park, Silsoe vacated, ceased trading in the Bedford area. The Chipping Norton Depot, Worcester Road, was bought back into Middleton Stoney. The Case franchise and business at Bicester, Lords Lane, was relinquished.
The business was established as the three 3 depots from which Turney Group currently trades: Middleton Stoney, Weston on the Green and Princes Risborough.
2020s
2020 During the COVID pandemic, Turney Agriculture continued to support the agricultural industry. Employees were deemed key workers and the business continued following guidelines. The Groundcare and Garden Machinery divisions at Weston on the Green stayed open, at a much reduced staffing level, due to government restrictions.
2021 Turney Group Fieldforce, Agriforce and Groundforce were rebranded to Agriculture, Groundcare and Garden Machinery with new logos and artwork.
2023 Turney Group marked 75 years in business with a day of fun and celebrations for staff, customers, suppliers, friends and families, July. The company suffered the loss of its Managing Director, Paul Turney, August.
2024 The Agricultural Service department won the New Holland Q1 Customer Service Champion Award, scoring highest across the board, May. Turney Group was awarded Service Dealer’s Farm Machinery Dealer of the Year, November. Turney Groundcare signed a new territory expansion agreement with Ransomes Jacobsen to the South and West of the existing area of responsibility.
