News: Russell Todd Promoted!

From The Turney Group

We are delighted to announce the promotion of Russell Todd to Branch and Sales Manager at our Weston on the Green depot.

Russell takes on the role following a successful period as Horticultural Parts Manager, where he demonstrated a strong commitment to customer service, operational excellence and supporting the continued growth of the branch. His promotion reflects not only the contribution he has made to the business so far, but also the breadth of experience he brings from a career spanning engineering, manufacturing and supply chain management.

With more than 20 years of experience across supply chain and manufacturing operations, Russell has developed a unique combination of technical expertise, commercial understanding and operational leadership. This experience has equipped him with the skills required to manage complex processes, improve efficiency and deliver strong results while maintaining a clear focus on customer satisfaction.

Russell’s journey began with P.A. Turney, where he gained qualifications in land-based service engineering. This hands-on experience provided him with an in-depth understanding of agricultural and horticultural machinery, as well as the importance of delivering high standards of service and maintenance. He later went on to build a successful career within manufacturing, working for one of Europe’s largest suppliers of mobility products, where he gained valuable experience in production management, cost control, quality assurance and regulatory compliance.

Having worked his way through a variety of roles throughout his career, Russell understands the challenges faced at every level of an organisation. His practical, positive and collaborative approach makes him ideally suited to leading the Weston on the Green team as the branch continues to grow and evolve.

To help everyone get to know Russell and his plans for the future, we caught up with him following his promotion.

About me:

I have just over 20 years’ experience in supply chain and manufacturing, which has allowed me to bring a combination of technical credibility, operational discipline and end-to-end business understanding, all of which provide the foundation for running a successful, efficient and profitable operation.

In my early years, I gained my qualifications in land-based service engineering with P.A. Turney, which gave me hands-on knowledge of the machinery and the processes required to service and maintain equipment to a high standard.

During my time working in manufacturing for one of Europe’s largest suppliers of mobility products, I learned how to deliver consistent output while managing costs, minimising waste and adhering to strict compliance and regulatory requirements.

Having worked through every stage from apprentice to more senior operational roles, I understand the challenges faced by teams at every level and take a positive, hands-on approach to helping improve each process along the way.

I’m looking forward to:

I am most looking forward to helping drive the Weston branch and its team to the next level, using my experience in supply chain and manufacturing to run a branch where I understand how every part of it works.

Leading the team, improving efficiency, controlling costs and delivering reliable results for customers and the business is something I am really excited about.

It’s an excellent opportunity to take ownership and use all of my experience to build something strong and profitable.

Fun fact:

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two children, along with my little ‘puggish’ dog, Coco.

I am a huge Liverpool supporter and play a lot of golf, although getting my handicap into single figures this year may be a little optimistic.

A fun fact about me is that being such a big Liverpool fan resulted in my daughter being named after Steven Gerrard’s daughter, Lexie, although we spell it differently. Somehow, however, my son ended up being named after Everton player Leighton Baines. I didn’t quite think that one through.”

Russell’s promotion marks an exciting new chapter for both him and the Weston on the Green depot. His combination of technical knowledge, operational experience and leadership skills will play an important role in supporting the branch’s continued success and ensuring our customers receive the high levels of service and support they expect from Turney Group.

Please join us in congratulating Russell on his well-deserved promotion and wishing him every success in his new role as Branch and Sales Manager.
